Parallel Detection Based on a Generalized Partial Response Target for Staggered Bit-Patterned Media Recording Systems

چکیده
We consider a prospective island distribution of bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) that consists hexagonal array called staggered BPMR. Although the BPMR can reduce two-dimensional interference, including intersymbol interference from downtrack direction and intertrack cross-track direction, structure is unsuitable for detection schemes regular In BPMR, islands along neighboring tracks are skewed by half period on main track. Consequently, an track distorted four closest two To detect data, based generalized partial response target, we divided into three parts applied one-dimensional detectors. Then, to estimate original signal, averaged outputs The simulation results demonstrate proposed model improves performance compared with those described in previous studies.

Signal Processing for Bit-Patterned Media and Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording Systems with Media Noise
With the advent of the information age, the demand for larger storage capacity is ever increasing. However, the need to continue scaling conventional magnetic recording technologies to higher areal densities has led to physical and engineering limits which are difficult to overcome. New magnetic recording technologies are required. Bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) and heat-assisted magnetic...
متن کاملTarget and Equalizer Design for High-Density Bit-Patterned Media Recording
In bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) channels, the inter-track interference (ITI) is extremely severe at ultra high areal densities, which significantly degrades the system performance. The partial-response maximum-likelihood (PRML) technique that uses an one-dimensional (1D) partial response target might not be able to cope with this severe ITI, especially in the presence of media noise and...

An adaptive feedforward controller design for tracking repeatable runout (RRO) in bit patterned media recording (BMPR) is proposed for single stage hard disk drives (HDD). The technique is based on modified filtered-x least mean squares (MFXLMS) algorithm with deterministic periodic input, and a novel variable step size that boosts both the convergence rate and the steady state error. Comprehen...
متن کاملa new type-ii fuzzy logic based controller for non-linear dynamical systems with application to 3-psp parallel robot
abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...
15 صفحه اولIterative Decoding for Bit-Patterned Media Recording Channels with Insertion/Deletion Errors
In bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) systems, the degraded system performance is often caused not only by the intertrack interference (ITI) and the intersymbol interference (ISI), but also by insertion/deletion errors. This insertion/deletion error is one of the major problems in BPMR systems. Therefore, we propose an iterative decoding scheme for a BPMR system to combat the insertion/deleti...
